Bali Hai Cruises visits Nusa Lembongan, located 20km off Bali's East Coast in what is known as the "Three Island region". The Island is approximately 4kms long and 2kms wide and is home to around 4,000 inhabitants.
Nusa Lembongan and its sister islands, Nusa Penida and Ceningan, are surrounded by crystal clear water and spectacular coral reef which makes for fantastic snorkeling and diving. Aside from Tourism, the main industry on the island is seaweed farming. The seaweed is cultivated, harvested and then exported all over the world for use in cosmetics, food stabilizers and medicines. Other sources of income include traditional wooden boat building, farming peanuts, sweet potato crops, and fishing. You can have a sampling of this during our village tour.

And started per 28 May 2007, Indonesia will be added its Visa on Arrival (VOA) favors to more 11 countries joined with previous 52 other favored countries according to the Directorate General of Immigration recent released paper.

The 11 countries are Algeria, the Czech Republic, Fiji, Latvia, Libya, Lithuania, Panama, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia and Tunisia.

Tourists from those selected countries will not oblige to apply abroad for a visa but can purchase a visa on arrival at 15 gates of Indonesia's international airports and seaports. The fee for this visa, payable upon landing, is US$10 for a 7 day visa and US$25 for a 30-day visa.

The official entry requirements for the issuance of a 30 or 7 days day visa-on arrival:

Passport must be from one of the countries listed above.
Passport must be valid for a minimum of 6 (six) months from the date of entry into Indonesia.
Payment of US$10 or US$25 must be paid at the gateway, depending on the length of visa required.
Onward or return tickets are compulsory.
Visitors must enter and exit through one of the 15 airports or 21 seaports officially approved as an “international gateway” by the Indonesian Immigration department.
11 countries and territories are eligible for a "Visa Free" facility. Those holding valid passports from the following countries will be granted a non-extendable 30-day Visa-Free Short Visit Permit upon arrival at an Indonesian international gateway without charge:

* Convert money at a reputable looking money changer shop and independently calculate before changing. Shop around as the rate may vary, check whether the commission is added or not.
* Put on loads of high factor waterproof Sun Cream especially if you intend to spend a lot of time in the water
* Drink a lot of bottled water and eat a lot of fresh fruits - do your body a favour
* Be careful with your belonging at all times. Leave your important documents in your hotel safe and wander around with the copies.
* Respect the slow pace of processions - don't honk
* Haggle when buying, except on price-tagged goods
* Buy "immodium" to relieve bouts of Bali belly
* Reconfirm your outbound flight.
* Show your respect by wearing sarong when entering temples.


DON'T

* Step on offerings in the street - walk around them
* Attempt to swim outside designated areas on the beach
* Take drugs. This carry the death penalty according to Indonesian laws
* Touch people's heads. It's very offensive to Balinese Hindus
* Enter temples during menstruation.
* Forget to put salt on your food and drink water - you will probably sweat a lot
*Use your left hand in sacking or handing over something to someone as it is considered impolite. If there is no other option then express your apology.

Comments : One of our favorites, a welcome respite in Kuta, uses real cream!

Comments : Looking for some real Indonesian food? Here it is. Specialising in Sudanese cuisine (West Java) everything at Pawon Pasundan is absolutely delicious. Must tries are the "Flying Grouper" and the ice desserts.

Cafe Moka : Pastries and Western Favourites $$1/2
Comments : One of our favourite spots for bruch. Great bakery, light meals relaxed atmosphere and - surprise - great lasagne. Take-away available. Enjoy.

Gateway of India : Indian & Some Vegetarian $$$
Comments : The only restaurant in Bali dedicated serving authentic Indian cuisine - and if you get past the spartan decor the food is quite nice.

Comments : The local perennial favorite, Kafe Warisan just gets better and better. Excellent value for money-especially for the daily lunch specials. Absolutely delightful. Reservations recommended.

Comments : Same owners as Made's Warung in Kuta. It's rare to find a sequel as good as the original but Made's Warung in Seminyak has pulled it off (and there's parking).

Comments : The Greek restaurant in Bali, eating at Mykonos is like eating at home. Presentation may be simple but the atmosphere is fun, the food is delicious and the value is unbelievable. Reservations are an absolute necessity on the weekends.

Comments : New and cool. Exciting menu prepared in a show kitchen that opens onto and is part of the dining room. Faces is the only restaurant we know in Bali serving souffles - and we like souffles!

Comments : If you staying in Tanjung Benoa area try Nyoman's. Nothing fancy but the food is tasty and the portions are ample. Stick with the Indonesian dishes.

Comments : It's not that hard to pick Bali's most romantic restaurant on the beach. The food is delicious and creatively presented.

Comments : One of Nusa Dua's best kept secrets is that The Bali International Lawn Bowls Club is open to the public. Enjoy a bird's eye view of the pitch while dining. Nice club menu featuring true imported streaks. Tremendous value for money.
